NAAS Bronze Navigator Award
The Bronze National Navigation Award is a practical hands-on award. It is aimed at people with no navigation experience whether you are new to the outdoors or have been relying on others, guidebooks or easy well-defined routes.
NAAS Silver Navigator Award
The Silver National Navigation Award develops the navigation skills acquired at the Bronze level. It adds skills required to navigate to features and places some distance from paths and tracks. It teaches accurate compass work. It will also teach you to select the suitable navigational techniques to cross open country.
Direct to Silver Navigator Award
If you’re looking for the ultimate navigation learning experience, then our intensive NNAS Direct to Silver Navigator Award adventure is just for you. Over three days you’ll go from map reader novice to navigation expert as you progress through the syllabus for both the Bronze and Silver NNAS Navigator Awards.
What are the National Navigation Award Scheme (NNAS)
The National Navigation Award Scheme (NNAS) is a personal performance scheme for all ages to learn navigation skills and gain confidence to get out and enjoy the countryside. Their Navigator Awards give lovers of the outdoors, whatever their sport, age or fitness, the freedom to explore the paths, trails, hills and mountains of Britain. Progress through the Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards to take you from being an absolute map and compass novice to become an expert navigator.
The NNAS Navigator Awards are accredited by the Scottish Credit & Qualifications Framework (SCQF) at Level 5, and 2 SCQF credit points are awarded on completion. Successful candidates receive a digital certificate along with their nationally recognised qualification.
